Led by our design architect, Jay Touchstone, and project manager, Patrick Aiken, every detail was planned and executed thoughtfully, with incredible professionalism and skill. We purchased a home that needed some TLC outside and they helped us imagine, plan, budget and execute on a phased overhaul of the entire property. Every day that Mario and his team were onsite reconfirmed our provider choice. This team was clean, efficient, hard working, and just really good at what they do. There was a time my husband and I considered doing some of this work ourselves. Watching this crew for just a couple of days confirmed we never could have done this work with a fraction of the skill or quality this team delivered. They are truly pros. There were also many unexpected surprises along the way where smart, thoughtful details in Jay's design came to life - and we wouldn't have even thought to ask for these details. We also changed our minds, cut the budget, and pivoted a few times and they didn't bat an eye. The team listened and counseled us through our needs and priorities so that we would achieve our goals. They are not the least expensive option but we price checked several items and they are very fair. Beyond that, their skill and counsel was so impactful that I would argue you'd be better off paying for their counsel and forgoing or delaying a couple items in your project if budget is top priority. They knew exactly what to do to pick out a bushes and plants to fit well with what already existed. Getting all new sod was also well done. I can’t express enough to all the review readers… DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! You won’t go with these guys if you do!!! I hired Designs by Sundown off of a friend’s recommendation. I was moving across the country & starting a new job. I needed someone to take care of this $500k project! Lucky I learned quickly & I am only out what I paid for an embarrassing fence, I don’t even want to know how much I over paid for this! I have random nails everywhere that aren’t even hammered in straight, 2x4s shoved in gaps & I’ve already pulled a huge splinter out of my dogs jowl that went through & through. Pictures below are what the fence installer & project manager felt were good fixes! Just to start… I got a bid for turf from them for nearly $140k…. I was told the only other option is like what they sell at HomeDepot! After contacting 7 turf installers (all 4.5star rating & above, none of them HomeDepot), DBS was $40k more than the highest bid I got! The fence they installed, the only option I was given by the designer, is a split wood fence. All the fencing on my property & my entire development is the rounded wood fencing. This was never given even as an option. He did show me a small picture & not being from around here I assumed, split wood meant the three poles between posts…not a sliver nightmare. He also knew this area was being turfed for a dog & kid area. Bad on me for being aloof & assuming the designer was doing right by me!!! Even the fence installer said this is not what they’d put up for this type of area! Lucky for me, I’m only down the money of the fence. I got out. Working on pool/ spa bids. They are all coming in $75-80k less than I was quoted for DBS, all from 5 star pool companies. Do your research! Make a few phone calls! I’m giving 1star because there isn’t zero. I felt I needed to warn people as this company has really ruined what was going to be a great project for my forever home!!!!

It involved construction, plantings, and maintenance. DBS excelled on all fronts! From company ownership to project managers and the guys with boots on the ground, we found all members to be incredibly knowledgeable, organized, hard working, trustworthy, and kind. I can always rely on them and know they are on top of things, so I never have to worry. We are so well taken care of! They are also very communicative and responsive - I can always reach the person I need, and they are eager to bend over backwards to accommodate us. We feel so lucky to have found DBS and to have put our home in their hands. We feel like a team, and our family trusts them completely. DBS is a truly a gift to the Denver community.

I had a great experience and a good time working with Reggie Coats and his team at Designs By Sundown. They handled all the landscaping on my project and did an incredible job. The crew was professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with. Everything was done on time and turned out even better than expected. You can really see the pride they take in their work. And the homeowner was very happy how it turned out. I’d highly recommend Reggie and his team to anyone looking for quality landscaping done right.

Designs By Sundown is an excellent landscaping company! They were able to create a beautiful flagstone walkway and extra patio for us to enjoy for many years to come! They knew exactly what to do to pick out a bushes and plants to fit well with what already existed. Getting all new sod was also well done. Their construction crews were well organized, talented and worked really hard and efficiently to get us what we wanted (and beyond)! I highly recommend Designs By Sundown!

I can’t express enough to all the review readers… DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! You won’t go with these guys if you do!!! I hired Designs by Sundown off of a friend’s recommendation. I was moving across the country & starting a new job. I needed someone to take care of this $500k project! Lucky I learned quickly & I am only out what I paid for an embarrassing fence, I don’t even want to know how much I over paid for this! I have random nails everywhere that aren’t even hammered in straight, 2x4s shoved in gaps & I’ve already pulled a huge splinter out of my dogs jowl that went through & through. Pictures below are what the fence installer & project manager felt were good fixes! Just to start… I got a bid for turf from them for nearly $140k…. I was told the only other option is like what they sell at HomeDepot! After contacting 7 turf installers (all 4.5star rating & above, none of them HomeDepot), DBS was $40k more than the highest bid I got! The fence they installed, the only option I was given by the designer, is a split wood fence. All the fencing on my property & my entire development is the rounded wood fencing. This was never given even as an option. He did show me a small picture & not being from around here I assumed, split wood meant the three poles between posts…not a sliver nightmare. He also knew this area was being turfed for a dog & kid area. Bad on me for being aloof & assuming the designer was doing right by me!!! Even the fence installer said this is not what they’d put up for this type of area! Lucky for me, I’m only down the money of the fence. I got out. Working on pool/ spa bids. They are all coming in $75-80k less than I was quoted for DBS, all from 5 star pool companies. Do your research! Make a few phone calls! I’m giving 1star because there isn’t zero. I felt I needed to warn people as this company has really ruined what was going to be a great project for my forever home!!!!
